The Thinking
Named Concepts & Frameworks
IDEAS THAT
DO WORK
IN THE WORLD.
These are not theories. They are principles developed through real engagements, tested on real problems, and named because naming them makes them transferable. More are added as they earn the right to be here.
CONCEPT 01
AUTOMATION
FIRST
THINKING.
Developed by Mark Horton · RealityCut.ai
Stop asking AI for answers. Start asking it to build you the machine.
Most people use AI the same way they'd use a search engine. They ask a question and they get an answer. It's useful. But it's the least powerful thing you can do with the tool.
Automation First Thinking is a different approach. Instead of asking AI for the answer, you ask it to build you the system that generates the answer. It's a small shift in how you frame the prompt. The difference in what you get out is significant.
Rather than a one-off response, you end up with a repeatable process. One that anyone on the team can run. Every time. Without needing to know how it was built.
WHERE IT CAME FROM
I developed this for myself first, without really knowing what to call it. I'd been doing it for years — building AI systems rather than asking AI questions — before I ever put a name to it.
The moment it crystallised was working with a studio manager and their creative team. The problem they had was one I'd heard a lot. Clients sending briefs with big holes in them. No target market. No real objectives. No context. The creative team were going down the wrong roads and nobody was happy.
So I didn't ask AI to fix a brief. I built three prompts.
The first one audits an incoming brief and scores it. The second adds the strategic thinking the client missed. The third generates potential creative routes the studio can actually work with. Now any brief that comes in gets run through the same chain. By anyone on the team. Every time.
That's Automation First Thinking in practice.
The studio brief example
Prompt 01
Audits the brief and scores it
Identifies exactly what's missing before the team touches it.
Prompt 02
Adds the strategic thinking the client missed
Fills the gaps with reasoned assumptions so creative can proceed.
Prompt 03
Generates creative routes to work from
Practical starting points — not finished work, but real direction.
Result: a repeatable chain. Any brief. Any team member. Every time.
Where the principle applies
Creative briefs and proposal generation
Social campaign planning and content scheduling
Client onboarding and discovery processes
Quality control and review workflows
Any process your team repeats more than twice
The distinction that matters

CONCEPT 02
THE FRESH PRO
PERSONA
BUILDER.
Developed by Mark Horton · Custom GPT + Claude Visualisation
If the persona is weak, the funnel fails. This sets the tone and trajectory of everything downstream — from ads to landing pages to customer experience.
Most customer personas are too shallow to be useful. A name, an age, a job title. Maybe a pain point. Nothing that actually helps you write copy, brief a campaign, or build an offer that converts.
The FRESH PRO Persona Builder is a Custom GPT built on an original framework developed to go deeper — past demographics, past surface-level pain points, into the psychographic and emotional drivers that actually govern how people decide. Feed it a sentence about your audience. Get back something that reads like a year of market research.
The output then goes a step further. Claude takes the profile and renders it as a structured visual persona card — formatted and ready to go straight into a brief, a deck, or a strategy session.
THE F.R.E.S.H. PRO FRAMEWORK
The framework behind the tool was developed to fix a specific failure mode in persona work — describing an audience demographically while missing the emotional and psychological drivers that actually govern their decisions.

+ PRO Extension
The PRO extension takes the persona and uses it to generate strategic assets — directly from the profile. The output doesn't just describe the customer. It tells you how to reach them.
What it produces
A PROFILE THAT FEELS REAL
Not demographics on a page. A person — with a name, an internal story, an identity, and a set of emotional drivers that explain why they buy, why they hesitate, and what would make them move.
STRATEGY READY TO USE
The PRO output goes beyond the persona — generating the strategic assets that flow directly from it. Content angles, offer positioning, messaging hooks. Everything downstream, built from the same root.
VISUALISED BY CLAUDE
The profile is passed to Claude and rendered as a structured visual persona card. Formatted and ready to drop into a brief, a deck, or a client presentation. Looks like it came out of an agency strategy session. Takes minutes.
Who gets the most from it
Marketing teams · Creative agencies · Business owners before ad spend · Anyone who needs to know their audience and currently guesses
The FRESH PRO Persona Builder is available as part of Mark's consultancy work and AI content engagements. If you want to see what it produces for your audience, start with a conversation.
Anywhere a process repeats, the same principle applies. If you or someone on your team is doing the same AI task more than twice, you shouldn't be doing it manually a third time. You should be building the thing that does it.
This doesn't require technical skill. It requires a different question. Instead of "write me a brief analysis of this" — you ask "build me a system that analyses any brief I give it, scores it, and tells me what's missing."
Most people are still asking one-off questions. Automation First Thinking is the step beyond that.

New concepts are added as they earn the right to be here — tested in real engagements before they get a name. If you want to know when the next one lands, the best way is to be in the conversation.
